IF you wake up.

IF =

als, wanneer, indien (voor het geval dat – onzeker of het gaat gebeuren)

als, wanneer, toen (op het tijdstip dat – staat vast – kortgeleden gebeurd)

Er is dus verschil tussen:
If you see him tell him he still owes me one pound  
(mocht je hem toevallig tegenkomen..)
&
When you see him tell him he still owes me one pound.
(Zo gauw je hem ziet..)
